An American spaceship crash lands off the coast of Sicily and discovers that a strange blob-like substance, originating from Venus, has been attached to the ship. This same blob quickly turns into a growing monster, which scientists call a Ymir. Growing too big for its confines, the creature escapes and begins to terrorize Rome.
