After newscaster Mickey Croft criticizes the police force for failing to locate her missing daughter, Sharon, the case is assigned to Jump Street. Visiting the Croft home to look for clues, McCann traces Sharon to a movie theater and returns-her to Mickey. McCann offers help with whatever caused her to run away in the first place and, though Sharon vehemently refuses, he is convinced the girl is afraid of something.
