When cadets are suspected of brutally assaulting five gay men, Hanson and Penhall go undercover at the Norton Military Academy while Ioki infiltrates the homosexual community. As Hanson gets in good stead with cadets Adderly, Hudson, and Demerest, Penhall refuses to cut his hair. Later, Ioki, patrolling the area around the gay Someplace Else Cafe, is assaulted by Hanson's three cadets but is saved by Hoffs.Ioki identifies Demerest from the Academy's face book while Hanson goes on a search and destroy with Demerest and his two friends and is almost caught by a gay lynch mob when the homosexual target blows his rape whistle. Penhall, kicked out of the Academy for trying to use the Commondant's phone, reveals himself to Sergeant-Major Jackson in hopes that Jackson will turn in the three cadets, but Jackson, quoting the military honor code, keeps mum. When Adderly, Hudson, and Demerest learn that one of the men they assaulted has died, they turn themselves in, in true cadet fashion.
