While protecting a college station disc jockeyset to testify in a record company payola trial, Doug Penhall is shot and critically wounded. Lying in the hospital in a coma, Doug dreams his son Clavo is taken away by a social worker, while Doug's brother Joey is asked for permission to undertake a risky operation to save his brother's life. Meanwhile, Mccann poses as a college D.J. and Hoffs takes over as the station's manager to find out who shot their partner.
