Anthony Hopkins plays a college professor in the midst of a midlife crisis who takes out his frustrations by sleeping with a coed half his age (Bo Derek). After his angry wife (Shirley MacLaine) retaliates by bedding a handsome young carpenter (Michael Brandon), the unconventional foursome takes a comically awkward vacation together in the country.
