A former U.C. Santa Barbara student deemed insane in 2002 after killing four students during a drug induced rampage with his car is being released from a mental health facility.
A jury convicted David Attias in June 2002 of four counts of second-degree murder, but a week later, he was deemed legally insane.
A month later, he was committed to Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino County.
