Parts of Krobokan jail on the Indonesian resort island of Bali have been reduced to charred wreckage after rioting inmates seized the prison and set fire to offices. Police stormed the jail to regain control on Wednesday, a day after the trouble started. Some injured prisoners were taken away by ambulance. At least two were earlier shot in the legs by police who were confronted by a mob wielding sickles and hurling bricks.
