The DFL (German football league) and the 36 clubs from the top two leagues voted on Wednesday (December 12) in favour of tougher stadium checks, increased crackdown on flares and smoke bombs and tougher sanctions, video monitoring, and better-trained security staff. 'We have to underline in this context that there is no general security problem with football. But there is a need for optimization in some parts. And this we addressed today,' DFL President Reinhard Rauball told reporters.
