Firefighters battle blazes after fierce fighting in central Myanmar. Several neighbourhoods were still smouldering on Friday after unrest between Buddhists and Muslims in the area erupted into violence. The clashes have stoked fears that last year's sectarian bloodshed is spreading into the country's heartland. At least one mosque, an Islamic religious school, several shops, a government office and both Buddhist and Muslim homes were set alight.
