U.S. troops living in Australia celebrated their country's Independence Day on Wednesday (July 4) with some hot dogs and a game of softball. The United States have struck an agreement with the Australian Government to position 2,500 marines in the base in Darwin in the Northern Territory. Members of the Australian 2nd Cavalry Regiment joined U.S. troops to mark the 4th of July celebrations. Tables were decorated with stars comprising of U.S. colours of red, white and blue.
