This vivid depiction of the heroism and agony of the features a superb cast. Brian Keith plays Davy Crockett and James Arness is Jim Bowie. Bowie clashes with Colonel William Travis (Alec Baldwin), but is able to bury his differences to focus upon the battle against the Mexican soldiers. The battle scenes are breathtakingly lifelike.
