Norm Macdonald has always been an acquired taste - I find him hilarious, but my dad hates him, and my dad is about the only non comedy-nerd I ever come in contact with so he represents the field by default - but I can never tell when Macdonald;s deliberate anti-comedy is making me laugh organically or if I just have some conscious, over-intellectualized this must be funny because it;s so deliberately against funny instinct.Last week;s Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget was as funny as they always are (save the Chevy Chase one), with Roast mainstays Jeffrey Ross, Greg Giraldo and Gilbert Gottfried all bringing their A-game, but the most memorable part of the show, for better or for worse, was Norm Macdonald;s performance, a startling display of straight-faced, inexplicable non-comedy that no one in the audience was expecting, no one was able to make any sense of, and that had me laughing non-stop through the entire thing completely in spite of logic or explanation.CC Insider now brings
