Here we have the trailer for Be Kind Rewind, in which Jack Black somehow becomes magnetized, erases all the VHS tapes in his home video store and then sets out to re-recreate the movies instead of buying new ones. Now, let;s ignore the fact that video stores basically don;t exist anymore. And that the videos Jack Black creates look oddly similiar to the short films on Acceptable TV, which he produced. Just judging the movie based on how the trailer looks and the verdict is: Eh, not bad. Probably a rental. But then you see that the film is directed by Michel Gondry: He who directed the White Stripes Fell In Love With A Girl video that was all Legos and helmed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, one of my top five movies of all time. So I;m moving this one up to my See in Theaters list. At the very least, I;ll get to see more of Jack Black reenacting Boyz N the Hood. For high def versions of the trailer, go here.
