After she briefly turns him into a pony for Tabitha, Darren threatens to leave if Endora doesn't go first. Though Samantha convinces her mother to make amends, instead of issuing a simple apology, Endora sets out to endear herself to Darren, knowing it will only irritate him further. So, after struggling with a picture of his mother-in-law that has magically appeared on his desk, Darren takes extreme measures to incinerate Endora's photo, only to have it follow him back to his office. When a prospective client notices the picture when he arrives to discuss moving his account to the agency, Darren is forced to claim he loves his mother-in-law. When Larry insists on inviting Mr. Grayson to the Stevens' home for dinner that night, Darren must agree to invite Endora, too. However, while disapproving of Larry's arguing with his own wife, Louise. Grayson is impressed by Darren's seemingly loving relationship with Endora and offers to set him up with an ad agency of his own. Finally, puzzled by the circumstances surrounding Grayson's decision, Larry gives Darren his old job back with the promise to make him a partner in the future.
