Birt Dynely -- BIRT DYNELY is set in the real town of Falmouth, Cornwall, but it is a surreal comedy fiction, a strange tale of loss, ambition and endeavour ending with a tragic retreat into fantasy. It is the allegory of both a mythical beach and a life suffocated in the choking folds of political apathy and the pursuit of profit.
BIRT DYNELY was one of the first Digital Shorts commissioned by the UK Film Council, back when the techniques of digital manipulation using desktop computers represented the cutting edge of IT technology. The film was shot on location in Falmouth, the interiors using the town's beautiful Women's Institute hall.
The cast includes as Adoniah Schuyler the famous Cornish playwright and filmmaker Nick Darke, who died in 2005. For this reason the film remains very dear to its creators.
