Bloodhounds of Broadway, based on a tale by Damon Runyon, concerns the romance between good-guy-at-heart bookie Robert Numbers Foster (Scott Brady) and hillbilly Emily Ann Stackerlee (Mitzi Gaynor). She's an aspiring actress, and Numbers wants to help her get a leg up in the biz. However, Numbers is being investigated by the Feds. He skips town, but Emily convinces him to do the right thing and turn himself in (though he changes his mind a few times). After finally confessing and serving a year in prison, he returns to Emily - who is now the headliner at a fancy nightclub... a club that hires ex-cons as staff!
