Upon the advice of her lawyer (John Turturro), a rich widow, Lillian (Nancy Marchand), funds the establishment of a ballet company. Unfortunately, she chooses to rely on her inept groundskeeper, Jacques (Bob Nelson), and a cab driver who aspires to being a Renaissance man, Rocco (Mel Smith), to execute her plans. Their first production is the classic ballet Swan Lake, but will it lay an egg or will they be able to pull off a soaring success?
