Cat tries out for the musical theater production of Abe Lincoln: Superstar! But is dismayed when Dog inadvertently gets the lead role while he must play a donkey. Cat schemes to steal the part away but is paralyzed with stage fright on opening night. Dog coaches Cat and he gains confidence. In the end, the crowd roars its appreciation -- for Dog, who played the part of the donkey to perfection.Dog discovers that another canine has trespassed upon his favorite fire hydrant. Dog plants himself on the hydrant in an attempt to catch the perpetrator in the act and refuses to budge, even as their house catches fire.
