Glorious views of the Italian countryside and furious action combine in this thriller about ambitious racing driver Bill Fraser (Anthony Steel), who becomes embroiled in a deadly attempt by mogul Warren Ingram (James Robertson Justice) to steal blueprints to a competitor's car. Ingram's henchman, O'Donovan (Stanley Baker), murders a security guard while filching the plans, then joins Fraser's team during a Grand Prix race to the Swiss border.
