The promise of quick money in a Palm Springs, Calif., jewelry heist draws seasoned armed robber Roy Egan (Harvey Keitel) out of his quiet, Midwestern retirement. Everything goes according to plan until getaway-car driver Skip Kovich (Stephen Dorff) double-crosses his fellow thieves and kills Roy's brother, Lee (Timothy Hutton). Vowing vengeance, Roy chases the villain to Los Angeles in this contemporary film noir from director John Irvin.
