It's the 1950s, and high school sweethearts Michael (Jared Leto) and Roslyn (Alicia Silverstone) follow in the footsteps of many other couples they know: They get married. But soon, Roslyn feels stifled by her conventional existence and strains against it. Goaded by her best friend, Roslyn embarks on a dangerous affair, threatening her marriage, her reputation and life as she knows it.
