John (John Wayne) and his bride, Sandy (Vera Ralston), put aside his gambling past and hope to invest their nest egg into real estate that they're sure the railroad will want. But dishonest scoundrels also know about the railroad's plans to extend into Dakota. They're willing to destroy John, Sandy and many local farmers to make the promised huge profit.
