In the Darfur region of western Sudan, the Sudanese government and its Janjaweed allies have killed thousands of civilians, committed systematic rape, and decimated whole villages. Millions of people have been internally displaced, or forced to seek refuge in neighboring Chad. In August 2004 Human Rights Watch documented the crisis, and produced this video in partnership with WITNESS.
