This is an interview with Paul Allen. Paul was friends with Mick Hinton (Bonham's career Drum Roadie/Technician), and was fortunate enough to see Led Zeppelin several times (both backstage and in the studio) over the years, and actually went to Munich when Zeppelin was recording PRESENCE in 1975 at Musicland Studios.
Paul just arrived here yesterday in the states and is making a drive out to Los Angeles to sell his Bonham memorabilia to a famous player/collector. Paul hinted at 'upper five figures' for the sale.
**Here in the video he shows us one of Bonham's actual 6.5x14 Ludwig Supraphonic snaredrums (!!!), as well as a sweater worn by Bonham at almost every Led Zeppelin recording session. According to Pat Bonham (John Bonham's wife) the sweater was his 'lucky jumper', and he hated recording without it. Also on the table are two of Bonham's Ludwig 2B sticks and there is even a signed drumhead by the band!
Pat Bonham kindly donated the sweater recently to Paul to help raise money for his mounting medical/gambling bills.
It's estimated that Grohl paid Paul $85,000US (almost 55,000 British Sterling) for everything here on the table in the video.
