Gabi recovers from the small gas explosion underground in the tunnels, and quickly tries to get Melanie out of there before Andrew comes to. But he’s fast on his feet, preventing their escape – and proceeds to taunt Gabi, calling her by name, and wondering what brings her here. Melanie reacts, confused, realizing they know each other and not understanding how. Gabi covers and claims Andrew is the creep who’d been stalking her before he nabbed Melanie. She strongly hints to Andrew that others are in the tunnels and now is the time for him to escape, but he doesn’t buy her bluff, instead choosing to prolong their time together, hinting about blowing Gabi’s secret at any moment. The urgency is high because Melanie, all too aware of the dangerous pockets of gas, has spotted an electrical box giving off sparks, knowing the next explosion might not be so small. Later, frustrated and tired Melanie challenges Andrew to stop with the games – if he has something to say, just say it. Andrew looks at Gabi and says all right, he will… and Gabi knows her betrayal will soon be revealed. Sami bails EJ out of jail – much to Roman’s displeasure – but no sooner is EJ out of the police station than Roman gets an anonymous tip that EJ is planning on flying the DiMera jet out of the country that night. Roman confirms this, and when Will overhears Roman making plans to re-arrest EJ, he takes action and goes to warn EJ. He learns that EJ wasn’t making such plans, and it becomes clear he’s still being set up. Sami tells him he has no choice now: he has to run because once he’s behind bars again he may never get out. EJ hesitates but finally agrees – and they exit the house just as Roman arrives, ready to make an arrest. Daniel visits with Victor, and the men discuss their worries over the fact that Melanie is still missing. Victor then changes the subject to Nicole, and blasts Daniel for having any kind of relationship with her. Meanwhile, Nicole shows up and tells Maggie she was summoned by Victor. Maggie fears Victor is up to no good. Nicole walks in as Daniel and Victor argue about her, and she realizes Victor wants her out of Daniel’s life. Maggie goes off on her husband. She explains to Daniel and Nicole that she accidentally slipped to Victor (while emotional over Melanie) that the two of them were possibly involved. Daniel puts his godfather in his place, coming to Nicole’s defense. After Daniel and Nicole leave, Maggie lays into Victor once more. Victor has his reasons to dislike Nicole, and Maggie understands that – but he has no right to tell Daniel how to live.
