Maggie’s anxious to get to Melanie and break the news to her that Nick Fallon (her former stalker) is up for parole. Through a mix-up, Melanie still doesn’t know this, but in another part of town, Julie’s sure Melanie must know and is anxious to talk to her about not sinking Nick’s chances. With Jack’s sudden death, Julie’s main concern is healing her family, and she’s sure Nick’s changed. Maggie is kept from getting to Melanie because of the news about Madison. She and Victor tend to Brady. Later, she finally heads off to find Melanie and cushion the blow… but before she can get there, Julie finds her and unintentionally delivers the news in the worst way possible. Melanie – already off a horrible ordeal with Andrew – is shocked to hear that Nick may return to Salem. Sami makes bail and reconnects with her kids, but knows it’s Lucas she really needs to face after the harsh words they shared when she left to help EJ. Despite this, Rafe is very much on her mind, perhaps even more so because EJ remains in jail. Rafe is also thinking of Sami, though with Gabi, he works hard to stuff the conflicting feelings he’s started to have. He almost gives in and calls Sami – but then thinks better of it. Events conspire to throw these two together, and later they’re surprised to find each other face-to-face. Kate delivers a letter for Chad from Stefano – who has mysteriously disappeared after being found alive – and she’s devastated to learn the only mention of her in the note is Stefano’s intention to have no further contact with her. She gathers Billie and Lucas to tell them and they think this is reason to celebrate. Determined Kate states her intention to win Stefano back, much to the displeasure of her children, even if she has to crawl on her knees to do it.
