John is worried about Brady being all alone on New Year’s Eve, so he gets the bright idea to suggest he and Marlena go on a double date with the woman of Brady’s choice. Of course Marlena freaks and John asks what gives. She explains she and Hope already tried to set him up to no avail. So they should probably butt out of Brady’s love life. At the same time, Brady wants to spend New Year’s Eve with Kristen, but she thinks it’s too risky. He devises a plan to see her and she gives in. Along the way, she runs into Marlena and can’t help but push her buttons. Marlena snaps and thinks what Kristen is doing is evil and calculated. Kristen balks at this and notes Marlena hasn’t even told Brady that she knows about the two of them. Marlena avoids and but later when Kristen runs into John, Marlena can’t take it. Tired of covering, Marlena tells John (knowing that Kristen is with Brady) to go talk to his son about his double date idea. John does – and finds Brady and Kristen making love! Earlier, Brady and Eric talk, and Eric senses there’s a new woman in his step-brother’s life. However, Brady refuses to divulge any info – at least not yet. Will has a bad dream about never getting to know his child. Sonny asks what his dream was about, but Will evades, unable to tell him the truth. Will, however, texts Gabi and says they need to talk. They meet up and Gabi gently tells him his dream will soon be a reality. This kid may be theirs, but he or she now belongs to Nick. Will’s pain deeply affects her. Meanwhile, Nick goes to Kate and after being rude to Sonny, he balks at Kate’s offer. He plays hardball and walks. Later, Kate tells Sonny she doesn’t like that guy, and Sonny can’t help but agree. Meanwhile, Gabi goes to Father Eric and he senses something is up. He wants Gabi to talk about it, and she debates coming clean. At the same time, Nick is on his way to Gabi as Kate confides in Will that Nick is not to be trusted. Daniel clears up the misunderstanding with Jennifer and they go on their date. Later, they share a sweet kiss.
