At the town square, Marge pleads with Sami not to drag her dead husband’s reputation through the mud. However, Sami insists she’s telling the truth. Marge starts to lose it, and Abe and Hope must intervene. A shaken Sami shares a touching moment with Roman before heading off to the grand jury hearing. After giving her testimony, Sami tells EJ and Justin she thinks it went well. Marge arrives, wanting to make sure justice prevails. Finally, they are informed that the grand jury has reached their decision – will they indict Sami for murder? Earlier, Justin informs EJ there is a hitch in his plan to steal DiMera enterprises from Stefano. Meanwhile, Abigail is torn after witnessing Sami and Marge’s confrontation. She feels awful about keeping Sami’s secret – that she in fact knew Bernardi before she shot him and had reason to want him dead. Chad talks her down and blurts out he believes Stefano is responsible for sending Bernardi after Rafe. He opens up about his mixed feelings for his father, which brings him and Abigail closer together. JJ is “stunned” when he interrupts Jennifer and Daniel’s kiss. Daniel leaves, and JJ uses the incident to guilt trip his mother. Meanwhile, Daniel confides in Maggie about the situation with JJ. Maggie leaves and visits Jennifer on her son’s behalf. But Maggie only makes things worse, and a livid Jennifer texts Daniel, making it clear she is unhappy with him. At the same time, JJ drops by Daniel’s and declares Daniel will never turn his mom against him.
