It's the pre-dawn hours of October 17th and the boats of the King crab fishing fleet are enjoying rare, calm weather on the Bering Sea. Captain Eric of the Rollo knows that out here you don?t sleep through good weather. He wakes his crew to begin dropping their first pots of the season. Though the weather is cooperating momentarily, Captain Sig Hansen of the Northwestern receives word of an impending storm and is faced with a decision: to run or to fish. The decision is not as difficult for the captain of the Cornelia Marie. With a head gasket blown they are limping back to Dutch Harbor on one engine for repairs, but the storm is nipping at their heels. Getting caught one engine down in this squall is a recipe for disaster. It is a different story on the Time Bandit.
