Tina Chrisfield is a reporter who witnesses a vicious creature while vacationing at her lake house. Upon her return to work, she explains the event to her boss, David. But he does not believe her story, as it's a myth that has been previously told centuries ago. David gives Tina twenty-four hours to come up with another story or she loses her job. Accompanied by her colleague, Robert, Tina returns to her lake house to gather proof and convince David that the creature exists. But the tables turn when Tina comes up missing and Robert is left alone to fend for himself.
