On the Chinese calendar it's the year of the Dog, and Dog and Beth have been invited to ride in the annual Chinese New Year's Day parade. It's a joyous event, complete with dancing dragons and cheering crowds. But as soon as the parade is over, Dog's got a fugitive to catch. Ginger is only 18 years old and her mother thinks she is selling drugs and running wild, so she wants to revoke her daughter's bond. After a spirited chase and capture, Dog and Beth learn that Ginger is as smart as she is tough, and they counsel her to follow her dream of becoming a social worker. The next case is also one where the mother is important. Brandon's mom thinks that he'll be safer in jail than out on the streets - he's lost over 100 lbs because of his ice habit and so his mom has told Dog and Beth that she wants to revoke his bond. With the help of a loving grandma and auntie, the case becomes more of an intervention than a bust. And Dog does his best to try to convince Brandon to go to rehab before his ice addiction turns into a death sentence.
