Philip Van Horn (Trevor St. John) returns to his hometown of Cuba, Missouri after a long stint in Hollywood without much success. Greeted like a celebrity back home, he impresses his high school love, Dorothy (Mary Stuart Masterson). A fallen cheerleader and beauty queen, Dorothy s life has become boring and plagued by overbearing boyfriend Ezra Good (Jon Favreau). As tension grows with Ezra, Dorothy looks for love and redemption in this stranger with a mysterious past.
