It's Clean-Up the Beach Day, as Dora and Boots are cleaning up garbage when they find a Singing Clam, who tells them the story of Mariana the Mermaid. Mariana lives in the Mermaid Kingdom at the bottom of the ocean. One day, a mean octopus started dumping garbage on the kingdom, and all the mermaids and mermen got sick. Then Mariana found a magic crown, which granted her one wish and she wished the garbage away. The kingdom was beautiful again, but then a huge storm came and the magic crown was washed away. The mean octopus returned, dumping more garbage and making the mermaids sick again. Dora and Boots want to save the Mermaid Kingdom and with the viewer's help, they find the crown washed ashore on the beach. After checking the Map, the duo set off on a magical musical adventure to Mermaid Kingdom across the Sea Shell Bridge, over Pirate Island, and past the Silly Sea to try to save the mermaids.
