Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) are about to wrap up a routine suicide investigation when the police laboratory chemist develops a bizarre twist to the case, in The Bullet. All physical evidence at the home of Nora Hamlin (Carol Byron) indicates her estranged husband shot himself over their separation. But closer study by Forensic chemist Ray Murray (Olan Soule) sends the detectives back for further investigation. Mabel Albertson portrays Jessie Gaynor, Nora's mother.
