A phony magazine salesman using an authentic Congressional Medal of Honor for credentials is the target of Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan), in The Subscription Racket. When Sgt. Friday makes a public service appearance on a local television station, the firm's film librarian, Tate (Doodles Weaver), reports that his wife, Marilyn (Sarah Selby), has been swindled our of a large sum of money by a magazine canvasser. The investigation shows how police deal with this type of confidence game. Brian Avery is featured as suspect, Glenn Procustan, and Marianne Gordon portrays his girl friend.
