When an unexpected solo mountain trek ends in catastrophe for John Laughlin (Jason Priestly), inspired fellow climbers set out to brave the elements and follow John's dream...to conquer the world's tallest peak, Mt. Everest. Determined investigative reporter Norman Kelly (William Shatner) chronicles their daily struggle and when mutiny seems to destroy any hope of reaching the summit, injured climber Laurie Skreslet (Eric Johnson) leads the group across creaking icefalls, gaping chasms and through the death zone in an effort to survive.
