Atom Egoyan directs this chilling portrait of a serial killer, Hilditch (Bob Hoskins), who befriends innocent young women, only to turn them into his victims. When he meets Felicia (Elaine Cassidy) -- a pregnant Irish girl who's come to England in search of her boyfriend, with whom she's lost touch -- Hilditch offers his help, drawing her in with his kindly manner and deceptive charm.
