Requiring police protection after receiving death threats against her, popular rock star Rebecca is awakened from a drunken sleep and summoned to the auditorium where she is already two hours late for her rehearsal. However, responding to a call from security at her hotel, Nick and Schanke discover that a man was found stabbed to death in Rebecca's hotel room. Tracking down Rebecca's manager at the concert hall, Nick and Schanke inform Marty Benson of the killing and he hurries Rebecca into her dressing room where she is confronted with the news of the murder. Although Rebecca admits that the knife used in the slaying is a prop from her act, Nick doubts that Rebecca could have administered the precise wounds found on the victim.
