Based on two Damon Runyon short stories written into a must see Broadway musical, Guys and Dolls concerns a Broadway denizen called Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra), who maintains the Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York and needs a location for his latest high-stakes game. His new digs would run $1,000, which he doesn't quite have. He wagers high-roller Sky Masterson (Marlon Brando), known for his willingness to bet on anything, that Sky will not be able to talk the prim and proper Salvation Army worker Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) into going out with him. While Sky woos Sarah, Nathan scrambles to district his girlfriend Miss Adelaide (Vivian Blaine), who has developed a psychosomatic cold because of her frustrating 14-year engagement Nathan, who always seems to have an excuse to delay the wedding.
