The only clue in a series of murders is a trail of police-issued ammunition that leads Hunter and McCall to suspect a colleague as the killer, in The Silver Bullet. After a well-known pimp, Shag Russell (BOB McLEAN), and a recent parolee, Jose Rivera (MICHAEL BANDONI), are shot, the detectives find a silver bullet with no fingerprints at the scene of each killing. Their investigation leads them to suspect a cop on the rampage. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Finn (JOHN SHEARIN) is severely depressed about his critically ill wife.
