A prostitute named Denise is held at knifepoint by a man named Zajak. He's wants information that one of her clients, LeClaire, may have told her about a job he was doing. Zajak then kills her. Hunter and Dee Dee learn from a friend of Denise's that the dead girl didn't have a pimp, but she does remember that one of Denise's last customers called from a local bar that caters to weird ex-servicemen. She also remembers that the guy had a French name.
