Cameron Diaz grew up as a tomboy in Long Beach, California and became a top model who earned $2000 a day. After seeing a script in her agent's office, she auditioned for, and won the role of Tina Carlyle in "The Mask." The experience was nerve-wracking for the then 19 year old. She developed an ulcer after auditioning a total of 12 times for the move. It all paid off as "The Mask" - co-starring Jim Carrey - became a huge smash in the summer of 1994 and Cameron became a highly sought-after actress.
