After battling Beverly Pollard, Johnny Mendez, and Victor Garcia, Alphus Phipps and Rodney Williams competed one-on-one for the title "The Best of East LA" and the opportunity to represent at the finals against Torrance. After battling Daryl Holley, Mario Hernandez, and Sulaiman Muhammed, Robert Martinez and Sam Ledford competed one-on-one for the title "The Best of Torrance" and the opportunity to represent at the finals against East LA.
