The Ricardos and Mertzes are out at a restaurant and Lucy keeps changing her order and their seating. Ricky points out that she constantly changes her mind and never completes things. The next day, Lucy finds an old, unfinished love letter to an old high school romance, Tom Henderson, now a successful furrier. Still annoyed by what Ricky said the night before, Lucy intends to finish it and leave it out for him to find. Before this happens, Fred alerts Ricky about her plan. When he doesn't react the way she hopes, Lucy decides to go to Henderson's fur salon to make him jealous. When she arrives, she sees a man who is not the prime physical specimen she remembers. With Ricky and Fred following close behind, Lucy decides to let them see her flirting with a mannequin instead of the man she believes is Tom.
