In this episode of Breed All About It we explore the wide world of Labradors, thought to be the most versatile of breeds or your "All Purpose" dog! First we meet Cyrus, your happy-go-lucky family pet. His jobs are numerous: collecting the newspaper, finding misplaced rocks tossed away by his owner, and retrieving an endless number of tennis balls. His work is never done, but he always looks good doing it. Though tennis balls are fun, Elvis retrieves different flying fare. He's a three year old master hunting retriever! Trained by Jack Jagoda of Deep Run Farms, Elvis has been trained to retrieve birds, buoys or anything required of him. He retrieves what he sees, as well as what his handler directs him to. He can also retrieve by smell! Stepping back in history, we discover the Labrador Retriever is a relatively new breed.
