Pete (Mike Myers) is a streetwise ex-junkie running from the mob. After his two best friends die, he feels obligated to help raise their three kids who now live with their grandmother (Brenda Fricker). When a meteorite crashes into the kids? backyard, they believe that it was sent by their parents and go to dangerous lengths to recover it from the wealthy scientist who carted it away.
