Invitation to the Dance

Filmed on New Year's Eve 2001, this celebratory performance by the Berlin Philharmonic -- under the baton of maestro Daniel Barenboim -- features a wide range of dance-inspired works, from classical to opera to samba. A trip through three centuries of dance, the outstanding concert includes pieces by Johannes Brahms, Giuseppe Verdi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jean Sibelius and Johann Strauss.
