Returning home for her mother's funeral, young Isabel Garnet (Geneviève Bujold) reluctantly stays to help her elderly uncle, Matthew (Gerard Parkes). But repressed memories of mysterious deaths and unspeakable taboos leave Isabel teetering on the edge of sanity.
