Since the death of her father, Kathy Griffin has been thinking about her own legacy. She has always idolized Suzanne Summers and now she has an opportunity to build her own empire in the image of Suzanne's. Griffin has an audition with the Home Shopping Network to hock house wares and hopefully someday develop her own line of moneymaking products. But while Griffin tries to build her legacy professionally, she's also trying to build it personally. Griffin invites her mother to move in with her and she and mom must navigate how to live under the same roof for the first time in 25 years. Then Griffin heads off for a big hometown Chicago performance. Griffin reconnects with her high school boyfriend, who Griffin firmly believes she turned gay and hopes to discover how she became a gay maker and what she can do to turn around her floundering love life.
