In Israeli director Menahem Golan's musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, young gang leader Kazablan (Yehoram Gaon) is a Sephardic Jew in love with Rachel (Efrat Lavi), an Ashkenazic Jew. While the two lovers share religion, their contrasting cultures and ethnicities fuel community scandal and a bitter family feud.
